REFLECT | 'What is going on in our lives right now?’

Did you manage to implement the ONE THING you said you were going to do differently this week? Why/Why not? (Not supposed to be condemning, just an acknowledgment)
How did your hearing from God go this week? What worked? What didn’t? Why/Why not?
ENGAGE | ‘How do we engage with what God is saying to us?
4 Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up. 5 All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship.
Fear is often a natural response to situations that seem to be out of our control.
What things in your life get ejected when you enter a storm?
The sailors turned first to their gods, what things do people (ourselves included) turn to first when things get hard?
But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep. 6 The captain went to him and said, “How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us so that we will not perish.
What is your response to Jonah being asleep in the storm? Can you relate to Hugh Martin’s suggestion that Jonah was sleeping ‘the sleep of sorrow’?
Do you think people ask us the question the captain poses to Jonah, today, asking us if our God can save them? What might that look and sound like in our friendships and acquaintances?
How can we respond?
