2009

2009 | James and Cathryn start to pray about where they should move to, to be where God wants them. The far-flung corners of the world are considered!

February | Meeting with their pastors Chris and Fliss at St Albans Vineyard, God clearly directed them to Hemel Hempstead.

April | Cathryn prayed out loud in the car whilst driving round Hemel, “Lord if you want me to live here you have to help me like it!” Two weeks later hears herself talk out loud (to james again!) about how nice Hemel is and there are so many green spaces everywhere!!

August | Barringers move to Hemel Hempstead, and start going to Hub training with Vineyard Churches to seek what God wants for them in Hemel.

2013

September 29th | Having sensed that God wanted a Vineyard church in Hemel, James and Cathryn are sent out from
St Albans Vineyard, to metaphorically put their flag in the sand! A new small group starts as the core of the newly planted church.

Small group grows, there are parties, walks, Carols on the Sofa, brunches, pamper parties…

2014

Summer | We meet at the Snow Centre in the evening. We start a monthly event called Vineyard Kids, booking an hours ‘play’ for under 5’s at the local gymnastics centre on a Sunday afternoon, and using a side room afterwards to give the children a drink and snack and do a creative bible story for 10 minutes, followed by singing Our God is a great big God!

December | We have a Vineyard Kids Carol service and party, and by advertising, this event was attended by lots and lots of unchurches families with small children. We continued this monthly event until Summer 2017.

2022

The beginning of the year sees the continuation of connect groups and Sunday gatherings. There is a sense of God’s invitation to pursue him and all that he has for us as apprentices of Jesus.
